The development/inner workings of hyperindividuality

Let me present to you the different sheaths of the soon to be born Individuality you’ve decided to take on this time. It will be a complete reminder of the total process of Becoming One, because last time, you’ve had the opportunity to progress quite well in your Journey in Incarnum, giving you the chance to be totally briefed before taking charge of the new Journey, and have much more potential at awakening.

Steiner – Stages of life, Sheaths of Spirit – Theosophic Beauty – Quotes

  1. « In the soul the “I” flashes forth, receives the impetus from the spirit and thereby becomes the bearer of the Spirit-man. Thus man participates in the “three worlds,” the physical, the soul, and the spiritual. He is rooted in the physical world through his physical body, ether-body, and soul-body and blossoms through the Spirit-self, Life-spirit, and Spirit-man up into the spiritual world. The stalk, however, which takes root in the one and blossoms in the other, is the soul itself.

This arrangement of the members of man can be expressed in a simplified way, but one entirely consistent with the above. Although the human “I” lights up in the consciousness-soul it nevertheless penetrates the whole soul-being.

The parts of this soul-being are not at all as distinctly separate as are the limbs of the body: they interpenetrate each other in a higher sense. If then one regards the intellectual soul and the consciousness-soul as the two sheaths of the “I” that belong together, with the “I” itself as their kernel, then one can divide man into physical body, life-body, astral body, and “I.”

The expression astral body designates here what is formed by soul-body and sentient soul together. This expression is found in the older literature, and may be applied here in a somewhat broad sense to that in the constitution of man which lies beyond the sensibly perceptible. Although the sentient soul is in certain respects energised by the “I” it is still so intimately connected with the soul-body that, in thinking of both as united, a single expression is justified.

When, now, the “I” saturates itself with the Spirit-self, then this Spirit-self makes its appearance in such wise that the astral body is worked over from within the soul.

In the astral body there are primarily active the impulses, desires, and passions of man, in so far as they are felt by him; sense-perceptions are also active in it.

Sense-perceptions arise through the soul-body as a member in man which comes to him from the external world.

Impulses, desires, and passions, etc., arise in the sentient soul, in so far as it is energised from within, before this “inner” has yielded itself to the Spirit-self.

If the “I” saturates itself with the Spirit-self, then the soul energises the astral body with this Spirit-self. This expresses itself in the illumination of the impulses, desires, and passions by what the “I” has received from the spirit.

The “I” has then, through its participation in the spiritual world, become ruler in the world of impulses, desires, etc. To the extent to which it has become this the Spirit-self manifests in the astral body. And the astral body is thereby transmuted. The astral body itself then appears as a two-fold body — in part untransmuted and in part transmuted. Therefore the Spirit-self, as manifested in man, can be designated as the transmuted astral body.

A similar process takes place in a man when he receives the Life-spirit into his “I.” The life-body then becomes transmuted. It becomes penetrated with the Life-spirit. This manifests itself in such wise that the life-body becomes quite other than it was. For this reason one can also say that Life-spirit is the transmuted life-body. And if the “I” receives the Spirit-man, it thereby receives the necessary force with which to permeate the physical body. Naturally, that part of the physical body, thus transmuted, is not perceptible to the physical senses. For it is just that part of the physical body which has been spiritualised that has become the Spirit-man. The physical body is then present to the physical senses as physical, but in so far as this physical is spiritualised, it must be perceived by spiritual faculties of perception. To the external senses the physical, even when permeated by the spiritual, appears to be merely sensible.

Taking all this as basis, the following arrangement of the members of man may also be given:

    1. Physical body.

    2. Life-body.

    3. Astral body.

    4. “I” as soul-kernel.

    5. Spirit-self as transmuted astral body.

    6. Life-spirit as transmuted life-body.

    7. Spirit-man as transmuted physical body. » – Rudolf Steiner

Remember. There is no end to the development of consciousness. You’ve been Created by beings that are not as High as the Most High, and you can reach their Level through your Journey. You can only gain the necessary tools to evolve by incarnating again and again on earth, until you reach hyperindividuality ! That is why you came back so many times. And Incarnum is such a delight of wonders, being human is such a trip !

You’ve chosen the right period for this, as there are many new tools and thought-patterns in the age you’re entering humanity into. You will be welcomed in the 21st century ! Congratulations 🙂

« The funny thing is, you will be living like a baby in the womb as long as your individuality doesn’t reach out to you. And at the same time, you will be its guardian angel and guide so that it can awaken you. How genius is that ? Baby-Guide hahaha.

Now the different ways it happens are as follow :

Sleep – Each time it will go to sleep, it will connect to you with its most subtle aspects. There, you receive its inner life, and through your abilities, you synchronize them with the impulse that you carry so that its subtle bodies can come back to its etheric and physical body and rejuvinate them with new updates on the missions. With a few links connected together to be triggered at the right time.

Meditation – Through meditation, your individuality may learn how to live through its soul and spiritual bodies more and more. Direct contact with you is fluidified through the practice. Obviously, there are thousands different ways of meditating. The most direct one to connect to you depends on the clarity of the intent, One must know about you to connect with you.

Synchronicity – Due to your position outside of space and time and your link to all things, you are able to create in your character’s timeline some most astounding effects. As everything has meaning and everything is connected in the realm of Incarnum, when an Individuality has a glimpse of it, it triggers within it the recognition of the Unity of the Inner and Outer worlds. Sparks of Unitive Thinking tend to arise more and more as the Individuality spots synchronicities in its life.

Therefore, it is one of the most favourite playing field of the Eternal Eyes (I’s) to create beautiful artistic symbolic synchronicities in the Dreams of their Individualities in Incarnum, so that they may rise up to they Eyes carrying a wonderful, uplifting story about how they came about becoming you.

All creation is thus Beautifully painted, orchestrated, willfully chosen, intensely lived. The Cosmic equation relating everything together through Unity is really what allows us to play with so much creativity. In this Unity, we find Freedom through Love. Our Creator has infused the background of its whole Dream with what may be called Love, Light and Consciousness.

Okay, sorry, I digressed-

Now, your Individuality needs to understand, that its Job is to gather resources from the deepest aspects of itself, the soul-consciousness, which dwells in Truth. Truth is independent from the fact that you agree to it or not, that it displeases your feelings, even if it renders you in horror. The value of Truth is untouched. The same goes for this part of the soul which dwells in Eternity. Everything that is acquired through your Individuality in the realm of the soul-consciousness is an eternally-living realization within it. Above all personnal, transient feelings, rests the eternal truth grasped within One’s own sacred space.

It is from this soul-consciousness space that you connect to your Individuality. And through its mind-soul, its ability to create thought-forms, it will work on the Astral body of desires and impulses to transform them bit by bit and make them align with the Eternal Truthes. May its Astral body become moral, and rise from beast to Man to Hyperindividuality. This is one of the biggest pieces you will have to help your Individuality work on. The whole of human evolution comes down to how much the « Me » can partake in the formation of the astral body and purify it and infuse it with individual impulses related to the Cosmos, to Eternal Truthes. Every impulse that you can root in eternal truth will grow to reach towards the highest potential.

[[Through this imprinting of the structural morality in the realm of the inner desire and impulses, the sentient soul-body related to the etheric body and the sensations of the physical world transforms itself. This metamorphosis changes the relationship with old sympathies and antipathies in the soul arising from the sensations of the sensory organs.

They stop becoming triggers and start becoming means of getting qualitative information about the external world in its depth.

As a more Individualized human being, the automatic reactions of the astral body linked to the personnal, collective unconscious and the physical cellular memories become more and more quiet. A lot of work has to be worked through if One would want to cleanse everything it carries, its part of the collective unconscious, but it is most possible, especially nowadays !]]

Man will eventually ascend to higher spheres with his personality. But something else is required. When the human being dives with his ego into the ocean of physical-material life, he finds his personality, he finds his warm blood, he finds the surging impulses and desires in his astral body — in short, he dives down into his personality. But now he must ascend into the realm of moral ideals — which must no longer be a realm of abstraction. He must rise to the Spiritual, and then there must stream towards him a reality in every sense as ‘personal’ as the reality streaming to him when he dives with his ego into his warm blood and surging passions. He must now scale the heights without lapsing into abstraction. How, then, as he rises into the Spiritual, can he enter into something that is a ‘personal’ reality? How can he develop these ideals in such a way that they are invested with the character of personality? There is only one way whereby this can be achieved. In these heights of spiritual life man must be able to draw to himself a Personality as inwardly real as the personality below in the flesh is real. Who is this Personality Whom man must draw to himself if he is to ascend into the Spiritual? This Personality is none other than Christ! One who speaks in the sense contrary to St. Paul may say: ‘Not I, but my astral body’ — but St. Paul says, ‘Not I, but Christ in me’ — indicating that when Christ lives in us, abstract ideas are invested with a personal character. Herein lies the significance of the Christ Impulse. Without the Christ Impulse humanity would reach abstract ideals only, abstract ideas of morality and the like, such as are described as ideas working in history by many historians today but which can neither live nor die because they have no creative power. When reference is made to the part played by ideas in history, it should be realized that these are dead, abstract concepts, incapable of exercising sway over epochs of civilization. Living reality alone can exercise such sway. The task before man is to unfold a higher Personality. This is the Christ-Personality Whom he draws to himself, receives into himself.

Man cannot rise again to the Spiritual by merely talking about the Spirit but only by taking the Spirit into himself in the living, personal form presented to him in the Events of Palestine, in the Mystery of Golgotha. Thus does man rise upwards again under the influence of the Christ Impulse. In no other way can abstract ideals be invested with the force of personality than by allowing the Christ Impulse to permeate the whole of our spiritual life. If on the one side, through guilt incurred before the development of the ego, we have burdened ourselves with what is called Original Sin, if there we have something for which we cannot be held wholly responsible, neither are we ourselves responsible for the fact that it is possible to draw the Christ to ourselves. Our ego plays a part in what we do or endeavour to do in order to come near to Christ, and there we can truly speak of merit. But the fact that Christ is present, that we are living on a planet where He once dwelt and in times after this actually happened — this is not due to any merit of our own. Therefore what flows from the Living Christ in order to bring us upwards again into the spiritual world, comes from beyond the sphere of the ego and draws us upwards as irresistibly as we incurred guilt without ourselves being guilty. Through Christ’s existence on earth we have the strength to rise again into the spiritual world without merit of our own, just as we incurred guilt without sin of our own. Neither fact has to do with the element of personality in which the ego lives, but both are connected with happenings that precede and followthe coming of the ego. Man has evolved from a state of existence when he had only physical body, etheric body and astral body, and he evolves further through transforming his astral body into Manas (Spirit-Self). Just as man has worsened his astral body through incurring Original Sin, so he heals it again through the Christ Impulse. An inflowing power repairs the astral body to the same extent to which it has deteriorated. That is the Atonement, that is what in the true sense is called ‘Grace’. Grace is the concept that is complementary to that of Original Sin. So the Christ Impulse has made it possible for man to become one with Christ, to say with St. Paul: ‘Not I, but Christ in me’, thus giving expression to everything that is designated by the concept of Grace.

Therefore to speak of the existence of Original Sin and of Grace does not denote misunderstanding of the idea of karma. For in speaking of the idea of karma we are speaking of the reincarnation of the ego in the different earth-lives. Karma is inconceivable without the presence of the ego: Original Sin and Grace, impulses which lie below the surface of karma, [are] in the astral body. We can say with truth that human karma was first brought about because man had burdened himself with Original Sin. Karma flows through the incarnations and before and after there are happenings which introduce and subsequently expurgate it. Before karma — Original Sin; and after — the victory of the Christ Impulse, the fullness of Grace.

Logic :

  • Ideas ought to be built upon Nature & Universal principles
  • They shall be brought to the attention of people, especially those who have decisive power to implement them and those who whould be intimately filled with their purpose acting creatively in their individual way to birth them.
  • Building the skill and confidence to be able to bring people together, not with authority but an inner understanding of the beauty and necessity of the realization of the projects at hand, would surely lead me astray, if not coming from devotionnal surrender. I can feel it in my soul. Effort to surrender. No personnal graitfication in this. Only cosmic beauty.

« Awakening back into the body »

Matt Kahn  » The Path of Courage »

1st Stage : Great Clarity is required.

2nd stage : returning back as awakened consciousness. It requires COURAGE.

Entry point of new level of mastery. All masters come back.

I want a brand new beginning, in depth of the soul, and courage to act upon it in the most respectful and courageous way.

We don’t get hurt by taking things « Personnaly », we’re hurt from not being the full person that we are. [Thus, we don’t take « life » Personnaly enough anyway, else we wouldn’t get hurt by anything for we would be responsible of being Us. But we’re not fully committed to playing and expressing ourselves, so if anyone points out the limitations we’re imposing ourselves, we contract and defend these limitations as parts of ourselves whereas they’re not really, they’re part of what keeps us away from being truly ourselves.]

The Pain is to put us back into our bodies that we’re afraid to get back into. Because « up here in the Cosmos it’s heaven, I dunwanna lose this » : actually it’s a mirage, and you have to get your ass back down to reality.

Courage – Core rage – Inner tension required to get really in life, tap into it.

If you don’t act courageously, core rage = active : ANGER, passive : SADNESS.

Core rage – turn it into COURAGE or else it fuels nothing but notgood.

How do you become Courageous, to heal your Core-Rage that fuels your agressive Anger and passive Sadness ?

As ESB, we’re already self-aware, and we lack the healthy amount of self-importance that gives us the worthiness to be courageous. To live boldly, and to actually Hold Space in our lives and actually matter. And you can’t matter if you think this world is an illusion.

This world is Real. Cause you’re Real, and if you’re Real, everything’s Real ! And if you’re Real, Everything Matters. And not Fear Based, like « Omg my thoughts ! » xD

Let’s Learn how to heal the Core-Rage and the Inner Turmoil, by understanding how to be Courageous.

The transition from Core-Rage to Courage is called Surrender.

How many times have you had the experience « I Let go, so haaard, but it didn’t work 😥 » xD

You don’t let go of things, things let go of you.

You’re the one who’s let got of. And what triggers this ?

The cultivation of your Courage. And Surrender is what does that.

(It shall make you change thought patterns etc which won’t attract anymore the same behaviors in all fields of you existence)

So what does it mean to Surrender ?

Surrendering to the Fact, (actually the Higher Self Viewpoint) that every single thing in your life is here to help you evolve and become better than you’ve ever been before, whether you like what’s happening or not, that’s what surrender is.

And if we surrender to that, there’s NOTHING to « Blame ». [Blame doesn’t exist anymore. Therefore I could become greatful of all these negative thought patterns for teaching me how not to love myself and make me strive to reach the opposite side of the spectrum]

It’s a very noble act to say : « I don’t like what’s happening, I don’t like the characters that are playing their perfect roles, I don’t like script I’m reading from, I don’t like the character that I have to be, I don’t like this one bit, but I won’t blame anyone, because everything is there to help me, and I’m going to take the most noble step of surrender by focusing on how something is helping me, and even if I don’t know how it’s helping me, the fact that I can accept that it IS beneficial to me, the absence of Blame allows Everything to Be your greatest evolutionnary benefit.

« Everything is here to help me, and I don’t have to like it. »

For me it’s like « That would be Neat ! » and if it doesn’t happen well « Bummer ! Moving on ! ». And sometimes it’s more serious, « This is what I Want ». It’s an actual inner Wanting, different from this superficiality. And if it’s going to help You, it can only be of benefit to Others.

And I think part of the hypnosis that we all get stuck in as energetically sensitive beings, often caught in very debilitating co-dependent cycles, is we try to get other people to understand the benefits of these decisions. And we say « until they’re okay with it, I can’t make my move ». « Until they’re okay, we must not be complete. » In reality, you’re only Incomplete until you take your Bald Step Forward. So most people are stuck waiting for things to be complete, and its their exit into the new reality that is the completion they’re seeking.

« No One needs to See that it’s Best for All. Only I do. And that’s when you learn to Trust your Self. »

You don’t heal unworthiness through inner spiritual work, you heal un-worthiness by being courageous and trusting yourself. I know what I have to do, here’s what I’m gonna do, and you see people in your life who aren’t necessarily on the same page, that’s just your own reflection of.. history of self-doubt

Everything that I take is a Grace

Everything that is taken is a Liberation, only creating new space in my life for greater frontiers to emerge.

In the spiritual path, we seem to be only greatful for the things we like. [Hit : start of practicing of gratefullness towards the Shadow/This fuckedupness of the hypnotic trance negative unconscious patterns undermining your life 😀 Thank you demons] And I think what we should start is being grateful for the most helpful things.

Hey this change is happening in my life, this is highly inconvenient, Very Helpful ! Not Convenient. Not a fan ! But wow, the benefits ! xD

There are things that are really good for us spiritually, that your Ego wants nothing to do with. And that’s okay 🙂

But the Ego is under the impression of « If I don’t want it, I shouldn’t have to go through it. » But that’s not what this adventure is about. How do you know the things you have to go through ?

The things that are happening ! It’s really simple. Nothing happens without some sort of evolutionary benefit, whether you see it now or in 20 years, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a gift in it.

Everything is here to help you.

If everything is here to help us, then we face life openly. We stop negotiating with life. Life knows what you want ! But life needs you to become your Boldest self before it gives you everything you desire.

First you have to become life greatest’s desire of who you’ve come to be. You have to become life’s greatest desire and then all of your desires are fulfilled as you embody the image of Life’s highest perfection.

We first fulfill Life’s desires, and then Life fulfills Our desires.

Surrender is : no matter what happens, no One to blame.

You don’t need to blame some One or yourself in order to move on. You can just go « thank you so much. Moving on »

..

Feels good : Here’s what I need to do to challenge myself. It’s not like going hard, it’s just what needs to be. I feel it from Life. Courage.

PLAN OF THE WORLD – Steiner quotes

http://wn.rsarchive.org/GA/GA0110/19090418a01.html (previous pages)

There is what we may call a primeval world-wisdom; — all that man can fathom, all that he can know and realise, all that he has gained in ideas and conceptions, all that he has attained through clairvoyant imagination, inspiration, and intuition, — all has been lived before, and known before, by those Beings who are higher than he.

He only follows so to say, in their track.

To make use of a trivial example: the watchmaker has first the idea, then he makes the watch according to the idea. A watch is made after the maker’s ideas which preceded the watch; afterwards everyone can study and observe for himself from what ideas the watch was made, he can follow up the thoughts of the watchmaker.

At the present point of evolution it is indeed only this kind of connection that man can have with primeval world-wisdom and with the spiritual beings that stand above him. Spiritual beings had first those imaginations, inspirations, intuitions, those ideas and thoughts according to which the world, as we see it, was formed. Man finds these thoughts and ideas in the world again; when he rises to clairvoyant vision, he finds the imaginations, inspirations, and intuitions, by the help of which he can penetrate into the world of those spiritual beings.

We can, therefore, say that before our world came into being there already existed the wisdom of which we are going to speak: it is the PLAN OF THE WORLD.

The problem of humanity first becomes important for us, when we know that in all we do, even in our moods, we influence a whole Cosmos, and that this small world of ours is of infinitely far-reaching importance for all that comes to pass in the macrocosm. An increase in our feeling of responsibility is the finest and most important of all the things we gain from spiritual science. It teaches us to grasp the true meaning of life and to realise its importance, so that this life which we cast on the stream of evolution may not enter that stream void of meaning.

If we speak very figuratively we can express it thus: An old solar system disappeared and died away. Within that ancient solar system the ranks of Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones had evolved to the highest perfection. They then sought out, according to the inspiration received by them from the highest Threefold Unity, a Sphere within Universal space and said: ‘We will begin here.’ When the Seraphim took up the aims of the new world-system, the Cherubim worked out these aims, and the Thrones poured out of their own Being the primeval fire into that space. Thus we grasp the beginnings of our world-system.

Trinity-Godhead : Father/Brahma; Word/Shiva; Holy Ghost/Vishnu : « The Threefold Unity has needs of beings to execute its plans.

Seraphims – Spirits of Love – « Receive from the Trinity the highest ideas and aims for a system of worlds »

Cherubims – Spirits of Highest Wisdom – Task of building up in wisdom the aims and ideas which they received from the higher gods. Thus the Cherubim are spirits of highest wisdom, who understood how to transpose into workable plans, the inspirations given to them by the Seraphim.

The Thrones – Spirits of Will : they « sacrificed themselves in order to build, like silkworms, what gives bodily substance to warmth, on ancient Saturn »

And the Thrones, the third grade of the Hierarchies, counting from above, had the task — naturally very figuratively expressed. — of putting things into action, so that what had been thought out in Wisdom — these lofty cosmic thoughts which the Seraphim had received from the Gods, and which the Cherubim had pondered over, should be transformed into active reality.

We actually see, if we do but try to see with the soul, how the first realisation of the divine plan occurs with the down-flow of the fire-substance of the Thrones. Thus the Thrones appear to us as those Beings who have the power to transform into a primary reality that which has been first thought out by the Cherubim. This takes place because the Thrones allowed their own substance to flow from them, the substance of the primeval original world-fire, into the space, which had been chosen for the new world-system.

They stopped on lower Stages, they had come over in a condition when they still had to pass through a certain development, before they could be creatively active, before they could offer sacrifice

The Dominions – Spirits of Wisdom – Kyriotetes

The Mights – Spirits of Motion – Dynamis, Virtues

The Powers, Spirits of Form – Exusiai, Potentates

Ancient Saturn – Archaïs  – Spirits of Personnality (inner-outer warmth, laid « eggs » behind allowing for them to become individualized consciousness, gave Ego-consciousness to warmth, their activity is Thought and their thoughts have produced warmth

Ancient Sun – Archangels, as Light emanating from an ancient Sun that has days and nights. A.A. extends they day  time with help of the Cherubims, who, from 4 corners (with two side brothers, making it 12 and the Zodiac) helped the Archangels out.

Ancient Moon – Angels (I guess)

Present Earth – Man – Animals – Plants – Minerals

Future Jupiter

Future Venus

Future Vulcan : « Become more than a Sun » « Reaching the maturity of Sacrifice » – a dying Sun is a conscious sacrificing entity giving Birth to new Life.

-The Sun becomes a Zodiacal Circle in its evolution

The Thrones, Cherubims and Seraphims have evolved from an earlier Solar System, and our Own Solar System will produce these kinds of hierarchies.

Steiner and Jung – Great Correlation – Gender

Love saturated with wisdom or wisdom penetrated with love is the highest goal.

http://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/19080318p01.html

In the man the etheric body is female and in the woman it is male. However strange it may seem, a deeper observation will disclose the following: Something of the opposite sex lies hidden in each person.

+ Anima & Animus de Jung.

The woman has masculine qualities within herself and the man feminine qualities.

In the man the masculine pole works outwards and the feminine lives more inwardly, while in the woman the opposite holds true.

Spiritual science knows that the two higher members of the human being, the ego and the astral body leave during the night while the physical and etheric bodies remain behind. Thus it follows that during sleep the human being leaves behind male and female aspects and lives as a sexually undifferentiated being in the spiritual world. Everyone’s life is thus divided between a sexual and an asexual experience.

[Were the human being unable to return to a spiritual homeland during sleep, it would not be possible to carry into physical existence the seeds needed to initiate great and noble deeds. Therefore nothing could be worse for the human being than prolonged loss of sleep.]

Life and form must work together in everything that lives. And if we look at the nature of the sexes from this standpoint we can say: That which corresponds to the life principle is the masculine, while that which brings life into a certain form expresses itself in the feminine.

But just as the artist is able to mould life and form into his great works, so is our whole being in reality life and form. This in itself shows that human nature is of spiritual origin and is created out of life, out of the continuous process of life and that which gives it permanence. The human being experiences life and death as the expression of this higher polarity of existence. It is in this sense that Goethe could say: “Death is the means by which nature can create more life.” Thus life finds a form not for one-sided life, nor one-sided death, but for a higher harmonious whole which can be created through life and death together. On this basis spiritual and physical can work together through the medium of masculine and feminine; the eternally developing life in the masculine, and life held in form in the feminine principle.

These observations have shown, as is found again and again, that we must distinguish between the reality of the senses and the nature of being itself. If we want to solve the riddles of life, we must observe the whole human being from the world of the senses and from the world of the spirit. It can be seen that beyond the sense-perceptible polarity, man and woman are only garments, sheaths which hide the true nature of the human being. We must search behind the garments, for there is the spirit. We must not merely consider the outer side of the spirit, we must enter into the spirit itself.

We could also express it in this way: Love saturated with wisdom or wisdom penetrated with love is the highest goal.

“The eternal feminine draws us forward.” [The closing lines of Goethe’s Faust.]

The feminine is that element in the world which strives outward in order to be fructified by the eternal elements of life.

Foreseeing events is useless if you don’t have the courage to act in the present to start the butterfly effect leading to their fulfillment

Revise the script and don’t forget to act on it.

Everything is here to help. Sure. Except myself apparently ! Or this version of myself that is unhelpful, might be the greatest help actually, for it makes me strive to help myself. Tcheh.

Steiner – Stages of life, Sheaths of Spirit – Theosophic Beauty – Quotes

« Un homme se doit de se dire à lui-même que la vérité existe en elle-même, et que ses conceptions ne sont que des formes transitoire de vérités éternelles »

A man must say to himself that truth exists in itself, and that his conceptions are only transient forms of eternal truths

The Stages of Life According to Rudolf Steiner

0-7 – Moon : The first seven years of life (0-7 years old) were associated with the Moon. During this time, the psychic forces are working to transform the body of the child from one that was inherited from the parents, to one that represents the full personality of the child.

7-14 – Mercury : The second seven years (7-14 years old) is associated with Mercury. At this time, the child’s imagination and feeling life takes center stage.

14-21 – Venus: The third seven years (14-21 years old) is associated with Venus, during which time the higher mind of the adolescent takes root, and the psychic development can be disturbed by the strong impulses of puberty.

The next three seven-year segments are associated with the Sun (21-42 years old), and the elements of sentient soul, intellectual soul, and consciousness soul.

21-28 – Sun : sentient soul

« The sentient soul depends, as regards its activity, on the ether-body. For it draws from it that which it will cause to gleam forth as sensation. And since the ether-body is the life within the physical body, therefore the sentient soul is also indirectly dependent on the latter. Only with properly functioning and well-constructed eyes are correct colour sensations possible. It is in this way that the nature of the body affects the sentient soul. The latter is thus determined and limited in its activity by the body. It lives within the limitations fixed for it by the nature of the body.

But the boundary of the sentient soul does not coincide with that of the physical body. It extends somewhat beyond the physical body. From this one sees that it proves itself to be greater than the physical body. Nevertheless the force through which its limits are set proceeds from the physical body.

Thus between the physical body and the ether-body, on the one hand, and the sentient soul on the other, there inserts itself another distinct member of the human being. This is the soul-body or sentient body.

One can express this in another way. One part of the ether-body is finer than the rest, and this finer part of the ether-body forms a unity with the sentient soul, whereas the coarser part forms a kind of unity with the physical body. Nevertheless, the sentient soul extends, as has been said, beyond the soul-body.

What is here called sensation is only a part of the soul-being. (The expression sentient soul is chosen for the sake of simplicity.) Connected with sensations are the feelings of desire and aversion, impulses, instincts, passions. All these bear the same character of individual life as do the sensations, and are, like them, dependent on the bodily nature (=individuality). Soul-being : sensations deriving from material world, and the feelings etc associated to these.

28-35 – Sun : intellectual soul

Just as the sentient soul enters into mutual action and reaction with the body, so does it also in thinking, with the spirit. In the first place thinking serves the sentient soul. Man forms thoughts about his sensations. He thus enlightens himself regarding the outside world. The child that has burnt itself thinks it over, and reaches the thought “fire burns.” Nor does man follow blindly his impulses, instincts, passions; his thinking about them brings about the opportunity through which he can gratify them. What is called material civilisation moves entirely in this direction. It consists in the services which thinking renders to the sentient soul. An immeasurable amount of thought-power is directed to this end. It is thought-power that has built ships, railways, telegraphs, telephones; and by far the greatest proportion of all this serves only to satisfy the needs of sentient souls.

Thought-force permeates the sentient soul in a similar way to that in which the formative-life-force permeates the physical body. The formative-life-force connects the physical body with forefathers and descendants, and thus brings it under a system of laws with which the purely mineral body is in no way concerned. In the same way thought-force brings the soul under a system of laws to which it does not belong as mere sentient soul.

Through the sentient soul man is related to the animal. In animals, also, we observe the presence of sensations, impulses, instincts and passions. But the animal obeys these immediately. They do not, in its case, become interwoven with independent thoughts, transcending the immediate experiences. [See also under Addenda.] This is also the case to a certain extent with undeveloped human beings. The mere sentient soul is therefore different from the evolved higher member of the soul which brings thinking into its service. This soul that is served by thought will be termed the intellectual soul. One could also call it the mind-soul.

The intellectual soul permeates the sentient soul. He who has the organ for “seeing” the soul sees, therefore, the intellectual soul as a separate entity, in relation to the mere sentient soul.

35-42 – Sun : consciousness-soul

If a piece of knowledge gives me joy, the joy has significance just so long as it lives in me; the truth of the knowledge has its significance quite independently of this joy. By grasping the truth the soul connects itself with something that carries its value in itself. And this value does not vanish with the feeling in the soul any more than it arose with it. What is really truth neither arises nor passes away: it has a significance which cannot be destroyed. This is not contradicted by the fact that certain human “truths” have a value which is transitory, inasmuch as they are recognised after a certain period as partial or complete errors. A man must say to himself that truth exists in itself, and that his conceptions are only transient forms of eternal truths.

And as it is with the true, so it is with the truly good.

Moral goodness is independent of inclinations and passions, inasmuch as it does not allow itself to be commanded by, but commands them.

Likes and dislikes, desire and loathing belong to the personal soul of man; duty stands higher than likes and dislikes. Duty may stand so high in the eyes of a man that he will sacrifice his life for its sake. And a man stands the higher the more he has ennobled his inclinations, his likes and dislikes, so that without compulsion or subjection they themselves obey what is recognised as duty. Moral goodness has, like truth, its eternal value in itself, and does not receive it from the sentient soul.

By causing the self-existent true and good to come to life in his inner being, man raises himself above the mere sentient soul. The eternal spirit shines into it. A light is kindled in it which is imperishable. In so far as the soul lives in this light, it is a participant of the eternal. It unites therewith its own existence. What the soul carries within itself of the true and the good is immortal in it.

Let us call that which shines forth in the soul as eternal the consciousness-soul.

By consciousness-soul is meant the kernel of human consciousness, the soul within the soul. The consciousness-soul is thus distinguished as a distinct member of the soul from the intellectual soul. This latter is still entangled in the sensations, the impulses, the passions, etc. Everyone knows how at first he counts as true that which he prefers in his feelings, and so on. Only that truth, however, is permanent which has freed itself from all flavour of such sympathy and antipathy of feeling. The truth is true, even if all personal feelings revolt against it. The part of the soul in which this truth lives will be called consciousness-soul.

42-49 – Mars – Spirit Self : The next seven-year segment is associated with Mars, when the soul works hard to impress the full forces of its personality upon the world.  At this time, the soul has the opportunity to a higher state of consciousness called Spirit Self.

The “I” becomes ever more and more ruler of body and soul. This also expresses itself in the aura. The more the “I” is lord over body and soul, the more definitely organised, the more varied and the more richly coloured is the aura.

The “I” lives in body and soul; but the spirit lives in the “I.” And what there is of spirit in the “I” is eternal. For the “I” receives its nature and significance from that with which it is bound up. – So level up the bounding up of the « I » from body and soul to spirit !

The “I” lives in the soul. Although the highest manifestation of the “I” belongs to the consciousness-soul, one must nevertheless say that this “I,” raying out from it, fills the whole of the soul, and through the soul exerts its action upon the body.

And in the “I” the spirit is alive. The spirit sends its rays into the “I” and lives in it as in a “sheath” or veil, just as the “I” lives in its sheaths, the body and soul. The spirit develops the “I” from within, outwards; the mineral world develops it from without, inwards.

Damn this is GOLD. We have sheaths, and we ARE a sheath for the Spirit which unfolds itself through us. We have a baby-parent in the belly that is growing us up from inside-out. It took a sheath of « I »ness, consciousness-soul, mind-soul, sentient-soul, formative-body, and physical body, in order to be able to get the necessary nutrition to feed us, so that we can grow big enough to be a vessel for it, an actual useable corpse to wander around and live and experience reality.

The spirit forming an “I” and living as “I” will be called Spirit-self, because it manifests as the “I,” or ego, or “self” of man. The difference between the “Spirit-self” and the “consciousness-soul” can be made clear in the following way.

The consciousness-soul is in touch with the self-existent truth which is independent of all antipathy and sympathy; the Spirit-self bears within it the same truth, but taken up into and enclosed by the “I,” individualised by the latter and absorbed into the independent being of the man. It is through the eternal truth becoming thus individualised and bound up into one being with the “I,” that the “I” itself attains to eternity.

The Spirit-self is a revelation of the spiritual world within the “I,” just as from the other side sensations are a revelation of the physical world within the “I.” In what is red, green, light, dark, hard, soft, warm, cold, one recognises the revelations of the corporeal world; in what is true and good, the revelations of the spiritual world. In the same sense in which the revelation of the corporeal world is called sensation, let the revelation of the spiritual be called intuition. Even the most simple thought contains intuitions, for one cannot touch it with the hands or see it with the eyes; its revelation must be received from the spirit through the “I.” [Spirit : daemon ?]

And yet the sensations of both are called forth by the same object. The difference lies in this, that the one can form far more perfect thoughts about the object than can the other. If objects revealed themselves through sensation alone, there could be no progress in spiritual development.

The stimuli from the outer world are felt even by the child as incentives to the will; but the commandments of the morally good disclose themselves to him only in the course of his development, in proportion as he learns to live in the spirit and understand its revelations.

Just as there could be no colour sensations without physical eyes, so there could be no intuitions without the higher thinking of the Spirit-self. And as little as sensation creates the plant on which the colour appears, does intuition create the spiritual realities about which it is merely giving information.

The “I” of a man, which comes to life in the soul, draws into itself messages from above, from the spirit-world, through intuitions, just as through sensations it draws in messages from the physical world. And in so doing it fashions the spirit-world into the individualised life of its own soul, even as it does the physical world by means of the senses. The soul, or rather the “I” lighting up in it, opens its portals on two sides; towards the corporeal and towards the spiritual.

the spirit-world build, with its spirit-substances and spirit-forces, a spirit-body in which the “I” can live and, through intuitions, perceive the spiritual.

49-56 – Jupiter – Life Spirit : The following seven-year segment is associated with Jupiter, when wisdom is dawning and the ego needs to unfold the Life Spirit.

(check lower)

56-63 – Saturn – Spirit Man : The final seven-year period is associated with Saturn when it completes its second “return” (e.g. comes back to its position it had at one’s birth), and the soul can manifest an event higher element of Self called Spirit Man.

Just as within the physical world each human body is built up as a separate physical being, so is the spirit-body within the spirit-world. In the spirit-world there is an “inner” and an “outer” for man just as there is in the physical world. As man takes in the materials of the physical world around him and assimilates them in his physical body, so does he take up the spiritual from the spiritual environment and make it into his own. The spiritual is the eternal nourishment of man.

And as man is born out of the physical world, so is he born out of the spirit through the eternal laws of the true and the good. He is separated from the spirit-world outside him, as he is separated from the whole physical world, as an independent being. This independent spiritual being will be called the Spirit-man.

If we investigate the human physical body, we find the same materials and forces in it as are to be found outside it in the rest of the physical world. It is the same with the Spirit-man. In it pulsate the elements of the external spirit-world; in it the forces of the rest of the spirit-world are active. As within the physical skin a being is enclosed and limited which is alive and feels, so also is it in the spirit-world. The spiritual skin, which separates the Spirit-man from the homogeneous spirit-world, makes him an independent being within it, living a life within himself and perceiving intuitively the spiritual content of the world — let us call this “spiritual skin” (auric sheath) the spirit-sheath. Only it must be kept clearly in mind that the spiritual skin expands continually with advancing human evolution, so that the spiritual individuality of man (his auric sheath) is capable of enlargement to an unlimited extent.

The Spirit-man lives within this spirit-sheath. It is built up by the spiritual life-force. In a similar way to that in which one speaks of an ether-body, one must therefore speak of an ether-spirit in reference to the Spirit-man. Let this ether-spirit be called Life-spirit. The spiritual being of man therefore is composed of three parts, Spirit-manLife-spirit, and Spirit-self.

For one who is a “seer” in the spiritual regions, this spiritual being of man is a perceptible reality as the higher, truly spiritual part of the aura. He “sees” the Spirit-man as Life-spirit within the spirit-sheath; and he “sees” how this “Life-spirit” grows continually larger, by taking in spiritual nourishment from the spiritual external world. Further, he sees how the spirit-sheath continually increases, widens out through what is brought into it, and how the Spirit-man becomes ever larger and larger. In so far as this “becoming larger” is “seen” spatially, it is of course, only a picture of the reality. In spite of this, man’s soul is directed towards the corresponding spiritual reality in conceiving this picture. For the difference between the spiritual and the physical being of man is that the latter has a limited size while the former can grow to an unlimited extent.

Whatever of spiritual nourishment is absorbed has an eternal value.

The human aura is accordingly composed of two interpenetrating parts. Colour and form are given to the one by the physical existence of man, and to the other by his spiritual existence. The ego marks the separation between them in such wise that the physical, after its own manner, yields itself and builds up a body that allows a soul to live within it; and the “I” yields itself and allows to develop in it the spirit, which now for its part permeates the soul and gives it the goal in the spirit-world.

Through the body the soul is enclosed in the physical; through the Spirit-man there grow wings for its movement in the spiritual world.

In order to comprehend the whole man, one must think of him as put together out of the components above mentioned.

The body builds itself up out of the world of physical matter in such wise that its construction is adapted to the requirements of the thinking ego.

It is penetrated with life-force, and thereby becomes the etheric or life-body. As such it opens itself through the sense-organs towards the outer world and becomes the soul-body.

This the sentient soul permeates and becomes a unity with it.

The sentient soul does not merely receive the impacts of the outer world as sensations; it has its own inner life which it fertilises through thinking, on the one hand, as it does through sensations on the other. It thus becomes the intellectual soul.

It is able to do this by opening itself to intuitions from above, as it does to sensations from below. Thus it becomes the consciousness-soul.

This is possible for it because the spirit-world builds into it the organ of intuition, just as the physical body builds for it the sense-organs. As the senses transmit to the human organism sensations by means of the soul-body, so does the spirit transmit to it intuitions through the organ of intuition. The Spirit-self is thereby linked into a unity with the consciousness-soul, just as the physical body is with the sentient soul in the soul-body.

Consciousness-soul and Spirit-self form a unity. In this unity the Spirit-man lives as Life-spirit, just as the etheric body forms the bodily basis for the soul-body. And as the physical body is enclosed in the physical skin, so is the Spirit-man in the spirit-sheath.

The members of the whole man are therefore as follows:

  1. Physical body.

  2. Ether-body or life-body.

  3. Soul-body.

  4. Sentient soul.

  5. Intellectual soul.

  6. Consciousness-soul.

  7. Spirit-self.

  8. Life-spirit.

  9. Spirit-man.

Soul-body (C) and sentient soul (D) are a unity in the earthly man; in the same way are consciousness-soul (F) and Spirit-self (G) a unity. Thus there come to be seven parts in the earthly man. [See also under Addenda.]

  1. Physical body.

  2. Etheric or life-body.

  3. Sentient soul-body.

  4. Intellectual soul.

  5. Spirit-filled Consciousness-soul.

  6. Life-spirit.

  7. Spirit-man.

In the soul the “I” flashes forth, receives the impetus from the spirit and thereby becomes the bearer of the Spirit-man.

Me writing :

By having the correct understanding of the underlying processes involved in the evolution of man, One would have a great advantage as to be able to grow Oneself « Biodynamically » with rythms intrinsically linked with the cosmos.

One would want to acheive in this endeavour an App, a machine or thing, that takes the astrological reality of the Individuality, the Cosmos itself, the Age in which the Individuality is, and if possible, an inner map of its own Zodiac, in order to give the best practice to be practiced in the Now. Altough, this ought to already exist within us, as our own guiding system shall surely make us act in such ways once our Mind and Soul are sufficiently permeated with the right feelings for the right understandings. /end
